Welcome to the CHRISTMAS IN JULY blog hop, hosted by the Cookin' Up Creations Master Chef Challenge Team! The temperatures outside may say summer, but it's cool in here!! We hope our projects and craft ideas will help you get a head start on your holiday crafting. If you have been following the hop route, then you should have come from Jo's blog. If not, and you would like to follow along the complete blog hop itinerary, please start at the Cookin' Up Creations Blog so you won't miss any of the fantastic projects and inspiration the "chefs" have cooked up for you.
It's beginning to look alot like Christmas...Well at least we can pretend it's cooler weather.  One of my favorite parts of Christmas is wrapping gifts.  I love to find new ways to wrap gifts to make them look special for my family and friends.  Here are a few things I have come up with.

Paint cans!  I love them!  The cover fast and easily and make a big statement.  I using them for cookies and candy and I love using them when I need to protect a breakable gift that can fit inside. The paint cans as you know come in all sizes so you can pick the one that suits your needs.

Another thing I like to do is make tags for my gifts.  This is a great way for me to use up my pieces of left over paper and extra embellishments that I have.

These tags are quick to make and add a personal style to your packages.  I used the left over tags that I got out of Basic Grey paper pack, chipboard tags and circles, and I even cut a couple out of paper.  I added stickers, buttons, and chipboard accents to embellish them.

Now what's Christmas without the spirit of giving. So follow my blog and leave a comment below and you will be entered into a drawing for some goodies that Santa has dropped by for all the good girls and boys.

Thank you for stopping by! Now be sure to go next to Sandy's blog to see what holiday inspiration she has cooked up for you. Our blog hop continues through Sunday evening, July 22.

And be sure to stop by the Cookin' Up Creations forum (please provide link) for our CHRISTMAS IN JULY CROP this weekend, starting Friday, July 20 and continuing through Sunday, July 22. There will be more Christmas and holiday inspiration, challenges, and games.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Well due to the snowy weather I will be cooking my first Thanksgiving dinner this year.  After 2 days dh finally got out to go to work today.  We are suppost to get more snow and ice tonight and tomorrow.  So it will be a quiet thanksgiving around here.  With the crazy weather it means no black friday shopping for me.  This is what I am most sad about.  I guess i will see if I can get some deals online.
This is a look out our front door.  You can't even see our driveway..LOL  But I have to say one thing it truely is beautiful.  I hope you have a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving holiday.

Less then a Week till Turkey Day

Well here we sit less then a week away from Thanksgiving.  Yes we had our first site of snow yesterday.  It was so pretty falling but it wasn't cold enough for it to stick.  We are suppost to have a better chance of it this weekend.  Cold weather coming down from Canada.  Luckily we are winterized for the winter.  In honor of the cold weather here is an altered project that I did.  This was super simple.  The large snowflake came from the dollar store.  In the middle of the snow flake i hot glued 2 Christmas floral picks and added some ribbon.  These make great presents and take no time at all to do.

Ho Ho Ho Ho...Not Yet!

Boy I don't know why this year of all years I am so ready for the holiday season.  Yesterday I spent going through all my dvd's to find the Santa Clause movies just so I could watch them while working.  I mean I alway love the Christmas season you can ask my husband about that.  But this year is different.  I guess part of it is for only the 3rd time in my life I will be away from home for Christmas in my own house.  Kinda makes you feel all grown up.  I get to plan what I want to do for dinner, what desserts I want to serve, and I get to watch my husband hand out the Christmas gifts.  It's bitter sweet, but needless to say I will miss my family dearly BUT Christmas is finally mine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Insert evil laugh here)  My husband has no idea what he is in for this year.  I promised him no decorations would come out till after Thanksgiving...but oh the plans are already starting to formulate.  I am searching websites for new things to try...But before all that can come together we must celebrate my favorite holiday (besides Christmas)
Black Friday Shopping!!!
It's not insanity it's a tradition!  My bff and I have gone every year for the last 10 years whether we needed anything or not. It seperates the women from the mice...LOL  Here is a layout that I did of our shopping experience a couple years ago.
The car was soo stuffed that we were wedging them in the backseat.  It was such a fun day!!

This was a card I sent to my bff as a kick off to the holiday.  I found the inspiration on the web a few years back.  I am sorry I didn't keep the credit for the person that came up with the idea.  But isn't this fun?

Well I am off to start scouting my Black Friday plans! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.  Oh yeah 21 days!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did Santa Come Yet????

So I was informed by my Secret Santa on Cookin Up Creations that he maybe stopping by so I figured I better get here and make sure my blog was tighty.  Don't want to make the big guy mad.

Today was a good day.  Took my first out of North Bend trip by myself.  I decided to start some Christmas shopping.  It was kinda nice being by myself cause I could go to all the stores that my dh hates to go to.  I ended up at Pier 1 today.  LOVE that store.  They had all their Christmas stuff out.  I could so go broke.  Anyways my big score at Pier 1 was these great paper lanterns for my sisters rehearsal dinner. They are awesome.

They are blue to match the theme and they are 20 inches big. The best part of all is that I got them for $2.18 a piece.  Yep you didn't read that wrong.  They were on clearance so I picked up 4 of them to hang around her yard.  She was so excited when I told her.  I think they will be a great addition to the decorations.

Well off to work on some Christmas presents.  I am now offically in the mood for the Christmas season. It's the most wonderful time of the year.

Stormy Monday Morning

What a way to start off Halloween week.  We woke up this morning to the crashing of the side gate and pinecones falling on the roof.  The weatherman is calling for heavy rain all day today and wind from 30-60 mph.  It is crazy to sit here and watch all this go on outside my scraproom window.  So I have decided that today is a creative day.  I did get a few things done this weekend.  The party blog is progressing.  Hopefully the logo lady will be done with our logo choices this week so we can make a decision.  Once that is done the progression of the blog will be fast and crazy.  I did manage to get a layout done this weekend.  Bella is almost 1 and I am so behind on her baby album.  Alyssa last week took her to the pumpkin patch and got a couple of cute pictures.  I managed to scrap one of them this weekend.
She is so adorable and we miss her and lyss so much.  I can't wait to get the costume pictures.  Hopefully I will have those this week so I can get those scrapped to.  Well I guess I better get off and get to creating.  Have a wonderful Monday!

Baby Inspiration

So one of my dear friends from high school is having her first baby.  She is due at anytime.  Even though we lost contact with each other over the years and have just reconnected, I thought it would be nice to surprise her with a little gift.  So looking around my stuff I decided to make her a baby brag book.  This is a small mini album she can add her pictures into and keep in her purse.  This actually didn't take that long to do but I love how it turned out and I hope she does to.  I started with a fiskars 4x4 mini album and went from there.
This is one side of the album.  The paper and teddy bears are fuzzy.

Here is a close up of the sleepy bear. Sooo cute!

This is the other side of the album.  It is an acordian album so it is small and it allows multiple pictures.

I topped the present off with this super cute card.

The flower is handmade by me.  I got the inspiration from one of the Daily Blue Plate Specials on Cookin Up Creations. The paper is Heidi Grace's baby line.  The bling Baby came from Michaels.

So today has been a productive day.  Hopefully I can keep my mojo going and keep creating.  It has been so long since I have last created.  I was thinking the other day that I believe it was last November when I last scrapped.  Boy that is a long time.  Thanks for letting me share!

Wonderful Color

We went to Seattle today to celebrate our anniversary and we went to Pike's Market.  I was soo in love with all the flowers.  The colors were just wonderful.  I wanted to take them all home.  There was so much to see there.
This guy just cracked me up.  I love his sunglass.  I told my husband he must be from California.  LOL

The building in Seattle are so cool looking too.  This is the walk way into the library.  So much inspiration from there.  I am looking forward to scrapping some pictures.  It was a wonderful day.  Happy Anniversary honey, I love you so much!

Here's to New Beginnings

There is alot of new beginnings and adventures in my life right now.  First of all moving to a new state.  After being born and raised in California for 36 yrs my husband's job takes us to Washington.  It is actually very beautiful up here.  Another new beginning is starting a party planning blog.  This is a new adventure that I am taking with my sister.  More details to follow on this as we progress.   And probably the biggest adventure of it all is learning who I am at 36.  Can my creativity take me somewhere or is it just a hobbie past time?  I guess we will find out.

Welcome to my new blog.  I look forward to sharing things with you and I hope you find inspiration here.
